Matsya-Pranee Samavesh 2026 in Bhubaneswar

The event, themed “Technological Interventions in Fisheries & Animal Husbandry for Sustainable Development” was inaugurated by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. He addressed the gathering, stressing the deep-rooted role of animal rearing in human civilization and its current importance in strengthening Odisha’s rural economy.The CM attended and spoke at the event, focusing on government efforts to boost farmer incomes and promote self-reliance.

 

Mukhyamantri Kamadhenu Yojana — Launched in the first budget of the current government with ₹1,400 crore allocation. It offers up to 70% financial assistance for rearing high milk-yielding crossbred cows and buffaloes. So far, ₹262 crore has reached 4.73 lakh beneficiaries. OMFED adds ₹2 per litre incentive for milk producers. Milk production has risen by 1.35 lakh litres in the last 1.5 years. Artificial insemination with sex-sorted semen has benefited 2.3 lakh cattle rearers to increase female calves.

Mukhyamantri Matsyajibi Kalyan Yojana — Focused on welfare of fishermen and fish farmers. It supports marine and inland fisheries through financial aid, equipment, and infrastructure. Combined with PM Matsya Sampada Yojana, biofloc, and cage culture promotion, these efforts aim to push Odisha to the top spot in national fish production (currently fourth).
Other schemes like Subhadra, PM-KISAN, and CM-KISAN have led to noticeable annual income growth for Odisha’s farmer families.
