
Honourable Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi has announced an increase in the monthly allowance for Gram Rakshis working in rural areas of the state. Earlier, they were getting ₹1,800 per month. Now, their monthly allowance has been increased to ₹2,500.
Along with this, a new system has been introduced. Gram Rakshis will now have to visit the police station under which they work once a week to mark their attendance.
In Odisha, Gram Rakshis have important duties. They play a key role in maintaining peace and order in rural areas and also help in identifying criminals.
