Versatile singer and music director Abhijit Majumdar passed away at AIIMS Bhubaneswar.

Bhubaneswar (25/01/2026) : Today is a very sad day for music lovers in Odisha. Our Odisha’s Versatile Signer & Music Director Abhijit Majumdar passed away.He was only 54 years old.
The news came as a big shock to every Fans, singers, actors, and friends. Also Odisha People are calling him the “Melody King” of Odia music.
Abhijit Majumdar was not well for many months. He was admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar on September 4, 2025, in very serious condition. Doctors put him on ventilator because he was in a coma.
Doctors tried their best, but the illness was too strong.and today he left us.

Who Was Abhijit Majumdar?
Abhijit Majumdar was a big name in Odia films and Sambalpuri music. He started in Sambalpuri songs and later became very famous in Ollywood Industry.
He made music for more than 700 songs.
His songs mix old Odia folk style with new sounds.
He was both a singer and music director.
People loved his soft, touching songs that feel close to the heart.
Many of his tracks became super hits in movies and albums.
