The High Court has given an important decision about the PUCC. people can buy petrol even if they do not have a PUCC certificate.

The court clearly said that petrol pumps cannot stop petrol because of missing PUCC. Also, traffic police cannot force people to pay a fine only for not having PUCC at that time.

The High Court said that PUCC can be issued even if no challan is cut. The vehicle details can be updated later on the VAHAN portal. During the next vehicle check, the Transport Department can verify the details, but they cannot force anyone to pay a fine.
The court has asked the government to change the VAHAN portal rules and submit a written report about the changes. Till then, PUCC will not be a problem for buying petrol.

This decision is a big relief for vehicle owners. Now, petrol will be available even without a pollution certificate.
