Odisha is known for art and culture. Now it is also moving toward being known as a gold state. Gold stones and gold mine traces have been found in many districts. The information was presented in the Assembly.
According to the minister’s reply, survey and exploration work is going on in many areas. In some places, the presence of gold is becoming clearer.

Districts Where Gold Traces Were Found:

Keonjhar district

Gajipur, Utsalei and Jimirimunda areas are under survey. Signs of gold minerals were found.

Mayurbhanj district

Jasipur, Suriakuda, Ruansi, Irelkucha, Maredihi, Tuleipatal and Badampahad areas.

Sundargarh district

Tigiria, Maltihi, Hoga and Giringikela areas.

Koraput district

Ranksi, Karia and Goshnampur areas show gold stone presence.

Malkangiri district

Sunapadar and Gobindpali areas.

Angul district

Bankachua, Tikiri and Shobhakui areas.

Boudh district

Kudoga, Chandrapank and Ramgad areas.

Sambalpur district

Kendukunti and Kuntarbaha areas.

Odisha Discovers Around 1.5 Tonnes of Gold in Mayurbhanj District

The Geological Survey of India (GSI) has estimated around 1.5 tonnes of gold at the Madansahi site in the Kanjia gold mine.This is in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha.The estimate is 1,462 kilograms and 730 grams.It comes from a G-2 level survey done by the GSI.The G-2 survey is a detailed exploration stage.It helps confirm mineral deposits.No official statement or quote was given in the details.This find adds to Odisha’s mineral resources.Gold traces have been noted in other districts too.But this estimate is specific to the Madansahi site in Mayurbhanj.The discovery comes as gold prices remain high.It may support future mining plans in the area.The government plans to auction gold blocks in Mayurbhanj and other districts.More surveys and steps are expected soon.
