World Beach Volleyball Championship 2026 marks first time India hosts the event on a university campus at KIIT in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: World Beach Volleyball Championship 2026 will take place at KIIT University in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. This marks the first time in India that a Beach Volleyball World Championship is hosted inside a university campus.

The event is part of the FIVB Beach Pro Tour Challenge. It will run from March 4 to March 8, 2026. The championship will happen at the Dutee Chand Athletic Stadium on the KIIT campus, which has been set up to international standards.

KIIT University will welcome participants from around the world. The World Beach Volleyball Championship 2026 will bring together 52 countries. A total of 82 teams will compete. This includes 164 international athletes. More than 300 accredited participants are expected to arrive at KIIT.

Dr. Achyuta Samanta, founder of KIIT and KISS, has reviewed preparations for the event. He visited the venue to check progress.

“I sincerely thank the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) and its President, Hon’ble Mr. Fabio Azevedo, for giving us the opportunity to host this prestigious Beach Volleyball Championship in Odisha,” said Dr. Achyuta Samanta.
