The traffic congestion that has long been a problem on the road stretching from Jayadev Vihar to Nandankanan in Bhubaneswar may soon ease as a new elevated road at a cost of ₹952 crores comes up. The new road has been announced by the Chief Minister as part of efforts to improve the flow of traffic on the busiest road in the capital.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the elevated corridor was held during the celebration of National Road Safety Week. During this event, the Chief Minister had also inaugurated some important projects pertaining to the Works Department.
This elevated corridor will be created between Jayadev Vihar and Nandankanan and will cost approximately ₹952 crores. Four flyovers will be made at different junctions like the Jayadev Vihar Square, Kalinga Hospital Square, Damana Square, and KIIT Square.
The project would help improve the management of traffic in the highly populated route once completed. This would make the travel process smoother and easier for the general public.
The elevated road corridor represents a significant milestone in improving the urban road infrastructure in Bhubaneswar and improving connectivity in the state’s capital city.
