On the occasion of the birth centenary celebration of Padma Vibhushan Guru Shri Kelucharan Mohapatra, Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi graced a special program organized by the Department of Culture at the Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Odissi Research Centre in Bhubaneswar.
The Chief Minister paid floral tributes at the statue of Guru Shri Kelucharan Mohapatra, offering heartfelt homage to the legendary Odissi maestro who played a pivotal role in shaping and popularizing Odissi dance on the global stage.
During the event, Shri Majhi also visited and viewed an exhibition of paintings and photographs depicting the life, artistic journey, and timeless contributions of Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra. The exhibition showcased rare moments from his career and highlighted his immense influence on Indian classical dance.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister acknowledged Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra’s unmatched contribution to Odisha’s cultural heritage and emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting traditional art forms for future generations.
The birth centenary celebration witnessed the presence of artists, cultural scholars, officials, and art lovers, making it a memorable tribute to one of India’s greatest cultural icons.
