Cuttack, Odisha: A leopard died after a violent fight with a man in Anantaprasad village under the Narsinghpur West forest area of Cuttack district.
According to locals, the leopard entered a farm in the village, creating panic among residents. While trying to save himself, a young man got into a direct struggle with the animal.
During the fight, the leopard was killed, but the attack left the youth seriously injured. The injured man has been identified as Shubhranshu Bhol. The leopard had entered his Jaipur farm before the incident happened.
After the attack, Shubhranshu was rushed to a nearby hospital and later referred to Cuttack for better treatment.
Forest Department officials reached the spot soon after receiving the information. The dead leopard was seized from inside the house, and further investigation is underway.
The incident has created fear in nearby villages, and forest officials have advised people to remain alert.
