Odisha Approves Major Industrial Projects Worth Over ₹55,000 Crore, Big Boost to Jobs & Growth
Odisha Approves Major Industrial Projects worth over ₹55,783 crore, marking a major step toward accelerating industrial growth and employment generation in the state. The approvals were granted by the High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
Among the seven approved proposals, the biggest is a ₹35,000-crore mega steel plant in Dhenkanal. The 6 MTPA steel project, proposed by Saffron Resources Pvt Ltd, a JSW Group company, is expected to create around 8,000 jobs.
The approved investments cover key sectors such as steel, rare earth manufacturing, semiconductors, and renewable energy. Another major project includes a ₹12,000-crore titanium dioxide pigment manufacturing unit in Ganjam. In addition, a semiconductor facility worth ₹1,649.98 crore has been approved in Khordha district.
Overall, the projects are expected to generate 14,507 employment opportunities across Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Keonjhar, and Khordha districts. These investments aim to promote balanced regional development and support the state’s long-term vision of ‘Samruddha Odisha by 2036.
