The Odisha Economic Survey 2025-26 report shows strong economic growth in Odisha. The state economy grew 7.9 percent, higher than the national growth rate of 7.4 percent. The Gross State Domestic Product reached Rs 9.9 lakh crore.
Per capita income increased by 9.2 percent to Rs 1,86,761. The report states the benefits of development are reaching families across the state.
In agriculture, food grain production reached a record 150 lakh metric tons in 2024-25. Farmers received more than Rs 28,000 crore as MSP and input subsidy. Fisheries and animal husbandry sectors also expanded.
Women welfare schemes Subhadra and Lakhpati Didi continued across the state. A total of 16.42 lakh Lakhpati Didis are active. Female labour force participation rate increased to 48.7 percent.
Industrial investment also increased. New projects worth Rs 5.66 lakh crore were approved in one year. These projects created employment opportunities for many youths.


In education and health, the School and Mass Education budget rose by 38.4 percent. Under Gopabandhu Jana Arogya Yojana and other schemes, healthcare services reached people at the last level.
Infrastructure improved with new rail line connections, higher port capacity and development in civil aviation. The state continued its identity as India’s sports capital.
Despite growth, the state debt burden remained limited at 13.6 percent, indicating stable financial management.
The government is expected to continue development programmes in the coming period.
