Transit Housing and Affordable Housing Scheme came under review during a high-level meeting chaired by Smt. Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary of the Housing and Urban Development Department. The meeting focused on improving housing quality, speeding up allotments, and strengthening planned urban development.
During the review, officials were asked to closely assess the condition of already constructed houses under the Transit Housing and Affordable Housing Scheme. Emphasis was placed on ensuring that the houses meet quality standards and are fit for beneficiaries.
The meeting also highlighted the need to simplify the allotment process so that eligible people can receive housing benefits without delays or complications. Streamlining procedures was seen as a key step toward better implementation of the scheme.
In addition, discussions were held on strengthening planned urban development. The goal is to ensure that housing projects under the Transit Housing and Affordable Housing Scheme support organized city growth and provide better living conditions.
The review meeting reflected the government’s commitment to improving affordable housing delivery while ensuring transparency, quality construction, and sustainable urban planning.
